Stage One The Hair School is committed to helping students make their educational goals a reality by offering financial assistance to those who qualify. Our financial aid program is designed to help alleviate financial burdens so students can focus on building their skills for a career in the beauty industry. The U.S. Department of Education approves our school to offer Title IV federal financial aid to eligible students. The financial aid options available include:
Grants, unlike loans, do not have to be repaid. Generally, Pell Grants are awarded to undergraduate students without a Bachelor’s or professional degree. Students also have to demonstrate financial need. Many students use Pell Grants as a financial foundation and combine them with other financial aid options.
Loans have to be repaid but can be a useful tool for spreading out the cost of your education over a longer period. There are two types of Federal Direct Loans:
Louisiana residents may also be eligible for:
Along with federal and state-based options, there are also private scholarships and loans available for aspiring beauty professionals. You can search online for scholarship options or ask our Financial Aid team for their recommendations.
We strongly encourage students to apply for a combination of financial aid options to help cover the cost of their education as much as possible.
The basis for determining a student’s financial need will be an analysis of the student’s financial status. If you are still a dependent (someone claims you as their child on their taxes, and you rely on them for financial support), your parents’ financial status will also be considered. This analysis is accomplished by completing a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) distributed by the U.S. Department of Education. The Federal School Code of Stage One The Hair School is 016747.
If you want to start on your financial aid forms, check in your high school guidance counselor’s office or the financial aid office at Stage One The Hair School. The forms are also available via the U.S. Department of Education’s website – FAFSA® Application | Federal Student Aid. You can apply for loans and scholarships through the organization providing the program.
The factors determining financial need will vary from program to program. However, most programs will examine the cost of attendance, your expected family contribution, and your income. If you have more questions about your eligibility, contact our Financial Aid team.
