General Admissions Requirements

We’re excited to welcome you to our beauty school! To start the admissions process, you’ll need to meet the Stage One The Hair School criteria:

Be at least 16 years old
Have a high school diploma, GED, or proof that you completed homeschooling
Complete an admissions interview with a member of our team
Provide proof of identification, such as a driver’s license, state ID, or birth certificate

The Stage One The Hair School Enrollment Process

Ready to start working towards a future as a makeup artist, hair stylist, nail technician, or other career within the beauty industry? Our training courses are carefully designed to give you an opportunity to gain in-demand skills and prepare yourself to sit for the state licensing exam. But first, you’ll need to complete our enrollment process. Here’s how to enroll in our Lake Charles beauty school:

Schedule a tour of our campus. All prospective students are encouraged to take a tour of our campus before completing enrollment. This is an opportunity to see our beauty school in action, meet some of our instructors, and see actual classes in progress. You’ll complete an interview with a member of our admissions team during the tour, which is part of our enrollment requirements.
Submit your application. You can pick up an application during your campus tour or simply stop by the admissions office during business hours and request one. Return your completed form to the admissions office.
Provide documentation. You must submit a copy of a few documents along with your application, including your high school diploma (or equivalent) and a valid ID. Other documentation may be necessary depending on your circumstances and the program you are enrolling in.

Once accepted, you’ll receive information with details about your start date and class schedule. Please note that Stage One The Hair School reserves the right to change scheduled start dates and/or class schedules as needed.

What programs does Stage One The Hair School offer?

Stage One The Hair School currently offers cosmetology and esthetics training for those just starting their journey in beauty and teacher’s training for licensed cosmetologists. All of our programs use the Pivot Point learning system, instructor demonstrations, and hands-on experience to help students gain the skills needed to sit for the state licensing exam and pursue work in the beauty industry.

What happens during the admissions interview?

We know the idea of an interview may be intimidating, but this is just a chance for us to get to know you and share more about our school. You can ask an admissions team member any questions about our program and tell us more about your career goals. We’ll learn more about your interests within the beauty industry, which program might be right for you, and review the admissions process with you. The goal of the interview is to ensure Stage One The Hair School is the right fit for your future goals!

Do you offer financial aid?

Yes, financial aid is available to those who qualify. You can learn more about our financial aid options and ask our financial aid department any additional questions you have about paying for your beauty school education. All prospective students are encouraged to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine their eligibility for specific government aid options.

Do you accept Veterans' Educational Benefits?

Yes. Stage One The Hair School is approved for Veterans Educational Benefits. If you are a current or former service member or spouse of a service member, our admissions team can tell you more about applying these benefits toward your training at Stage One Hair School.

Do you accept transfer credits?

Currently, Stage One The Hair School does not accept external transfer applicants. While we generally do not accept credits from other institutions, we will evaluate incoming students’ transcripts to ensure accurate placement and any possible consideration for prior education.
